Intensive Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and faced disruption to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Local officials said the city came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A minor was killed and three other people were wounded.

The attacks follow evenings of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to identify.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the national power system, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were preparing for more assaults.
